Aspire CoffeeWorks on “The Today Show”

As a proud partner and supporter of Aspire, everyone here at Metropolis Coffee was excited to see the Chicago-based organization receive special recognition this past Monday on the Today Show. Aspire was part of a nonprofit-driven series that asks Today Show hosts, ”What Do You Care About TODAY?”

Aspire provides lifelong assistance and programs tailored to the needs of children and adults with disabilities and their families. (Learn more about Aspire)

So, how does Metropolis Coffee work hand-in-hand with Aspire to provide on-the-job training for adults with disabilities? Meet Aspire CoffeeWorks, a project that provides employment opportunities for adults with disabilities, while raising funds and awareness for Aspire.

Metropolis provides the craft-roasted coffee; Aspire provides the life-changing programs and services for adults with disabilities. Every Tuesday at the Metropolis roasting garage, participants from Aspire work alongside Metropolis Coffee’s team to grind, package, and ship orders of Aspire CoffeeWorks coffee (available online).

Make sure to watch the Today Show on Friday morning to see Jim Kales, CEO of Aspire, who will be participating in a round-table discussion about the work that’s being done through Aspire CoffeeWorks. Follow @aspireprez and the rest of the Aspire crew on Twitter for updates from the Today Show!
