The French owned Gethumbwini estate is located in the Aberdare foothills 40km north of Nairobi overlooking the Chania river. The farm itself is thought to be over 80 years old and comprises around 1000 acres of land situated at 6000 ft above sea level, with red volcanic soil and an annual rainfall of approximately 40 inches primarily in two rainy seasons, which coincide with two harvests; June/July and October/December. Picking and processing is performed by over 100 full time employees with an additional 200 seasonal workers utilizing company owned facilities.

Our offering is from the December harvest, is of the AA size, and features all of what we are looking for from a high quality coffee of Kenya. An intense floral fragrance introduces you to juicy citrus and blackberry overtones in the short followed closely by a stout mouth-feel laced with dry unsweetened cocoa bean in the long finish.
