Metropolis Coffee Company is a father and son owned coffee house and roasteria on Chicago's north side. We specialize in high quality small batch craft roasted coffees, with an emphasis on sustainability. We roast our coffee by hand in a steel drum machine. This method allows us to better bring forth what we call 'the thing in itself'.  That is each individual coffee's inherent character.  We do this time and time again, consistently roasting each batch by people that call themselves 'the keepers of the flame'.

Coffee, first and foremost.  We source the best coffees that we can find, roast them to order, and deliver or ship them within 24 hours of the roast.  We take this seriously.  With a sense of humor of course, but seriously just the same.

COFFEE 2. TEA
Complex and intriguing, the world of tea is at least as storied and traditional if not more so than coffee.  We offer  quality wholeleaf tea, sourced both from single estates as well as blends from multiple estates.  We also have a tea bag program, featuring Two Leaves and a Bud bagged teas. 

COFFEE 3. EQUIPMENT
We sell, lease, and service the best brewing equipment available.  Our products include La Marzocco, Fetco, Faema, Kees Van Der Westen, Mazzer, and many others.  We provide 24/7 technical support as well as a fleet of 24/7 on-call service technicians.

COFFEE4. TRAINING
Our training program is innovative in the industry.  Plan on a lot of time for training, as we walk you through not only the steps for producing quality coffee and tea, but also the who, what, when, where, and why behind the methodology.  We view the person who actualy makes the drink as one of the most important people in the chain, as they stand as the last link before the customer.  From farm to cup, the craft of the barista is not to be taken lightly.  We also provide documentation so that you can establish consistency and standards throughout your staff.
