Coffee beans vs espresso beans?

Rene H.
What's the difference between coffee beans and espresso beans?

I get asked this all the time and the answer you’ve all been waiting for, drumroll please…..

Absolutely nothing! There isn’t a special plant that produces espresso beans, they’re all coffee beans. Any coffee can be used to produce an espresso. It also is not a particular roast level despite a common thought that espresso beans are darker. While many roasters will develop special blends designed to be deliciously balanced given espresso’s particular method of extraction, there are plenty of shops out there pulling espresso shots out of single origin coffees too! Our Redline Espresso Blend™ makes a delicious espresso as well as a great cuppa joe. Don’t let labels limit you.
