We support local artists. Every month, Metropolis showcases an artist's work in our café as a full gallery. All pieces are available for purchase and 100% of the sale goes to the artist.

Rebecca EVE Baruc

Rebecca is a Chicago-based artist with roots in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.

Starting at age eleven she trained for seven years in the classical tradition, studying oils, watercolors and pastels with artist Barbara Herzberg. She has participated in intensive studio art and art history programs in Florence, Rome, London, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She studied painting and drawing at the Art Students League under painters Max Ginsburg and Mary Beth Mckenzie. Her contemporary art practice began while studying at The Glasgow School of Art. She is a graduate of Skidmore College, where she majored in American Studies and minored in Studio Art. Rebecca was Studio Manager and Conceptual Designer for David Wallace Haskins Studio. She currently is in the Certification Program at The Chicago Mosaic School, where she also teaches and has a studio.
