Silly question, but what, exactly, is an Espresso Capsule?
Not silly at all! An espresso capsule is like a K-Cup, but for espresso! Our capsules (often called pods) are single-serve espresso doses, brewed on a special capsule brewer. Metropolis Espresso Capsules are CMA and BPI-certified compostable and are compatible with all Nespresso original line machines.*
Will my local composter take your capsules?
Yep! Our commercially compostable capsules are certified both BPI and CMA, which means they’ll be accepted at any commercial compost facility. To find a composter near you, visit http://www.findacomposter.com and to learn more about composting options in your area, visit https://www.compostnow.org/.

What is the shelf-life of your capsules?
Our capsules have a shelf life of 24-months. Seriously! We wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true, Captain Coffee.
Can I brew drip coffee with an espresso capsule?
Totes! Just program your machine to brew more volume. We’ve gotten excellent results brewing up to 5oz from a single dose. A single, elegant solution for both espresso and drip coffee lovers.
Why does using Metropolis compostable espresso capsules help to protect the environment?
Traditional coffee pods are made with plastic or aluminum and are difficult to recycle or end up in landfills. To reduce our environmental footprint while still bringing delicious coffee to you wherever you are, we knew it was time to create completely compostable espresso capsules with best-in-class compostable technology.
